Tea and Snacks for Tay-Sachs - CATS

Early diagnosis is essential in Tay-Sachs disease and possible through a quick blood test and physical examination. However, Tay-Sachs is so rare that many time-poor clinicians do not think to test for it. We needed to create greater awareness of the ease and need to test for Tay-Sachs.

Insight: Little slices of time count. An opportunity seized in a moment can make a huge difference for children and families affected by Tay-Sachs.

The idea: Educate clinicians on the ease and importance of testing for Tay-Sachs, without impeding on their already busy days. Through a simple acronym and campaign located in hospital staff rooms, we would encourage every clinician to educate a colleague about Tay-Sachs - all in the time it takes to make a cup of tea (which is also how long it takes to test for Tay-Sachs).
